PUPIL WELFARE POLICY
Rationale
In our statement of Principles, Aims and Objectives, we affirm a commitment to providing "A happy, welcoming, safe environment, providing security, stability and care, within which each child will feel valued and supported.
Aims
We seek to provide:-
1. An appropriate education, which allows children to develop confidence and self-esteem and makes each individual feel valued and respected.
2. Systems which allow pupils and parents to access appropriate help, advice and support, with ease and confidence.
3. A Friendly stable and caring school ethos.
4. Clear and positive links with other caring agencies.
Aims into Practice
To achieve these aims the school will require to develop and monitor well defined systems to ensure continuity of care and a common approach both within school and across sectarian boundaries - Home, School, Psychological, Medical, Para-medical services, Social Work and Careers Services. These systems will be developed under the following headings:-
a) Guidance and Pastoral Care.
b) Parental Liaison, Communication and involvement.
c) Liaison with outside agencies. Medical and para medial services, Social Work, Careers services and the wider community.
d) Promoting Positive Behaviour.
e) Anti-Bullying Policy.
f) Child Abuse Procedures.
